Video poem: The Drag 2014. This is from the damnintellectuals.com Austin Scroll.
The Drag, a section of Guadalupe Ave along the western fringe of the University of Texas. Close to the University, The Drag has a history of a hang-out for students and folks of liberal attitude, a forgiving place for the odd birds to flock. In the 1960's, Janis Joplin probably wailed here on her way to the original Threadgill's on Lamar Ave.

From the 1950's through the mid-1990's, the
majority of undergrads at the university pursued a liberal arts degree.
Today, the majority are business majors and The Drag mirrors the change.

Man Mo Temple
Acknowledging ancestors, burning week-long incense ring as an offering, food and charm to the heavens.
Each temple has a purpose, specializing in certain requests. If nephew or niece is about to take a civil service exam, or wife waiting for the word about government job promotion, or someone looking for permit approval, Man Mo Temple is where you should pray.
